Malala Yousafzai rallies youth to stand up for universal education

After learning about Malala's story I was inspired to join the effort to raise awareness about the importance of education.  Check out this video clip and hear what Malala says!

Going for Gold!

I am an ambassador Girl Scout working on earning my Gold Award.

I want to raise awareness about the benefits of all children receiving an education and inspire others to take action.

About 57 million children around the world are not going to school.

Why is education important?

"Educated women [and children] have a greater chance of escaping poverty, leading healthier and more productive lives, and raising the standard of living for their children, families and communities." (www.voicesofyouth.org)

I have been inspired by the film "Girl Rising" and the book "I am Malala" that ONE person can make a difference.
