Going for Gold!

I am an ambassador Girl Scout working on earning my Gold Award.

I want to raise awareness about the benefits of all children receiving an education and inspire others to take action.

About 57 million children around the world are not going to school.

Why is education important?

"Educated women [and children] have a greater chance of escaping poverty, leading healthier and more productive lives, and raising the standard of living for their children, families and communities." (www.voicesofyouth.org)

I have been inspired by the film "Girl Rising" and the book "I am Malala" that ONE person can make a difference.

Take Action with me!  My goal is to create and distribute 100 bags filled with school supplies to impoverished communities and schools in Sigatoka, Fiji.

Sponser a bag for just $5 and make an impact on one child's education!

Follow along as I post more information about the importance of education, share links to what others are doing worldwide and present ways you too can take action!

Let's learn, love, and act together!
