Throughout my project I have encouraged Girl Scout Leaders, Cub Scout Leaders and other youth group leaders to use my lesson plans to teach kids how one person can change the world. My hope is that by learning about Malala and children around the world these kids will be inspired to take action on their own, with their families or with their youth groups!
A few groups sent me pictures to share here!

I would love to see how you are using the lesson plans with your youth groups!
Thanks to the support of my family, friends and community I have raised enough money to fill 100 bags with school supplies for impoverished communities and schools in Sigatoka, Fiji! First I went shopping for supplies
Next I tie-dyed the bags
After they were washed and dried I was ready to start filling the bags with school supplies!
Here is what each bag contained
I am so excited to get these shipped to the school children in Fiji!
As a part of my gold project I have created age specific lesson plans you can use with Girl Scouts and other youth groups to discuss the importance of education. They include age appropriate video links and reading suggestions as well as printable activities! In the United States we are fortunate to have the opportunity to go to school and learn. But, 57 million children all over the world do not have that opportunity. They wish they could go to school to learn things like me and you. Education has the power to break cycles or poverty, lead to better health and create stronger communities.
Thank you for checking out my blog! Please consider donating via the paypal link on the side of my blog so that I can reach my goal of creating and distributing 100 bags filled with school supplies to impoverished communities and schools in Sigatoka, Fiji.
After learning about Malala's story I was inspired to join the effort to raise awareness about the importance of education. Check out this video clip and hear what Malala says!
